How did we manage before almost every house had a phone or everyone had a mobile? Yes, I remember sitting in the Surgery Waiting Room for what seemed like hours, but probably no more than an hour - always in the evening.
Group practices seem to be a great idea - for the doctors and the nurses that are employed there - overheads are shared.
Dr McFadden and then Dr Quinn seemed to manage OK without a nurse or receptionist up to the early '60s and they did house visits!
