I've noticed that often, when stuck for a reasoned rebuttal, many retreat to, and resort to meaningless statements or phrases. A common one is: "real world."
Just as with "common sense", I have yet to get a satisfying explanation of what "real world" means, leaving me to conclude that it is an empty pejorative: a kind of "Plan B" used when one has nothing constructive to say, or to add to an argument.
