Just had notification through that the Cabinet have made the decision to shut the toilets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays, with signposting towards the Market Hall toilets instead. Apparently this will save the council £10k per year.

I'm meeting with the new Town Centre manager next week to find out why the decision was made and hopefully finding some figures to support this.

to me this seems nothing more than someone trying to con the public that this is a good idea because it saves money and i would love to see how stopping people peeing saves 10 thousand pounds a year.Maybe shutting the toilets upstairs in the market hall would be a much better idea .The outside toilets have been located there for many many years excusing the slight relocation of a few yards when the new complex was built and have served the public well mainly because it is the most ideal location for toilets to serve not only the shoppers but the workfoce in the market and the bus drivers

to me this whole escapade stinks ( excuse the pun) of and idea to help out 1 particualr buissness that hasnt been as unoticed as hoped but i can see this ridiculous idea been pushed through on sheer stubborness alone with the attitude that in a few weeks it will all be forgotten about
