Re: Job wanted
You have to travel to work these days Sean and a long way. I know I did the train route, and we do at 6.55 am to get to Manchester, so really all the persons I know of all trades here travel or stay in rooms to get work. It is the situation of 12 years as we know it. My son drives from Barrow up the Lakes each morning five days a week, an hour journey in good weather. Most of our IT are students who came from the towns such as yours. In reverse us older ones migrate to work as no work for specialist providers.
I said Sean to go to the agencies on the net as employment agencies, Reed for example.
But saying of Facebook and ebay might sound a little imature to an employer. That is why I said or should say of open courses at Lancaster University for IT skills not on the employer list. All are weekend short courses.
A teaching centre that is one or more hours away or more is the answer, and does not have to be within walking distance. Courses of interest let me know and I will source them. I did also take University of Glasgow DACE courses as interest. Marine biology as a practical one week field course with others. All these and volunteering add to the experience above others in the job market as there are thousands out there willing to travel nationally and internationally. Hope this helps.
You might consider self employment under the Prince of Wales Youth Business trust if it is applicable. Or you might consider your options more broadly. A job is a job is a job. It gives you a reason to get up and a perspective. Anyway I can help in finding a job let me know. Meanwhile get out to the library and to the country and get reading and adding skills before the spring tourism influx, it is here you will find work seasonally anywhere.
