On the subject of meters . My cousin was sure that she was paying too much for her electricity . But if you call them out to check it and you are wrong , they charge you for the call out . Her husband got a gadget , don't ask me how it works , but it shows you how much electricty you are using and this can be matched with the meter reading .

The end result was that they had their meter checked , and the man who did it said it was one of the worst he had come across . They were paying 2 and a half times too much for what they were using .

They got a few thousand pounds back from their supplier .
