"As I have already said, Accrington proved last night that they have a good chance of making the play-offs. Fitter, quicker to the ball than the Alex, playing with confidence and eager to shoot on sight and with 6 of their final 10 games at the Crown Ground, they must fancy their chances. What a difference a year makes, when you consider the thrashing we gave them 11 months ago. How they have progressed in that time, whereas it certainly looks as if we are now on the decline once again"
