On a linked note to that numerous people have expressed interest in finding out more about a Stanley crest thing that features on the front of the Breedons Encyclopedia. The picture shows an apparent large stone artifact with the FA crest on and a notation regarding commemorating a number of years of the Football League. Due to its apparent size and the fact that it looks to be made of stone it should have been a remembered piece and I often wondered where it disappeared to when the ground turned to dust. Closer inspection actually reveals that it is probably only a few inches high (deceiving picture) and was more than likely just a little wooden ornament. Was probably stamped into the ground and would have rotted long ago.

If it was wood Mac it would have been burnt, looking at the snippet of the dig I saw on BBC northwest news last night, looked like they were digging in the vicinity of where the wood from the old stand was flamed
