The story so far:
- L.C.C. owned the land, Hyndburn Borough Council applied for Planning Permission to turn into a car park, which was accepted.
- HBC couldn't afford the price of the land, so was sold off at auction to a private buyer.
- This is still the situation.
- L.C.C. would dearly love to buy back the land and lease to HBC as a car park, but they now cannot afford it with the cutbacks.
- The Pennine Reach scheme would have helped, but a certain councillor put a spanner in the works.
