As you say , Jaysay , neither Labour nor the Conservatives have had much impact on the results so far in England . There's not much between them at the moment .
For the Lib/Dems the result is a disaster , and when the Referendum results are declared , I wonder what plotting will be taking place in the Lib/Dem ranks .
If the Telegraph website is accurate , Miles Parkinson said that the Hyndburn win for Labour was a landslide

He is also quoted as saying that it was a reaction to coalition cuts nationally .
So much for it being about local issues
