No, folks live in trailers year round. And then there are the super cold resistant trailers that the military use in places like Alert, Qikiqtaaluk, where it is a balmy -6 (wind chill -18) as we speak.
However, I think the article is meant to generate awareness of the insensitivity of law enforcement, and indeed the general public (or that portion of it who think wings are health food, and WWE is a sport,) to incidents of sexual assault: the "she-was-asking-for-it" line of thinking. "Slut" is obviously a pejorative. And I find it hard to come up with a male equivalent
Call a man a slut, or stud muffin, and he treats it as a compliment, wears it like a badge of honor. Ironically, well, sort of ironically, the closest I can come up with is "fag".
This is not empty pc'ism. Women are being beaten and raped ... and still there are those who believe they "ask for it" ... no one asks for something like that.
