At least the new Government has pledged that no further powers can be devolved to Europe without a referendum, so any future moves towards a United States of Europe will be stalled.

Hang on a minute here gynn I seem to remember the Last Labour Government promising a referendum on the European Constitution but we didn't get one, and before Wyn jumps in two footed on my head, a referendum after the treaty was signed was useless, and a total wast of taxpayers money just like this latest referendum was, because we knew the answer before the result was reached
