That may have something to do with it. After all, if you believed that you were responsible for the loss of your child by something you failed to do...or for that matter, something you did that you should not have done, then of course you are going to punish yourself........and far more than any court in the land could
ever do.
I can only speak from my own perspective here, but if I had been repsonsible for the
accidental death of
my child, I do not think I could carry that burden for four days, let alone 4 years, without admitting it.
