Re: Charity begins-where?
Charity begins at home.
We are giving more than any other country......America has declined to give more than the 274 million it is signed up for...and the reasons it gives are stringent financial an budgetary issues in the homeland......shouldn't we try to use that as an excuse.
We give money to countries that have nuclear programs, that have space programs, but they decline to vaccinate their children.
We do not help countries by giving them handouts - they come to depend on the money that is being given as aid.......we foster a dependence in them.
And yes, I know that the povery in these countries is abject poverty....not the kind of poverty we have in this country.......our poor have wide screen TV's, playstations and the like.......but our old people have to sell their homes to provide care.
We treat our criminals better than our old people.
Maybe we should put the criminals into the care homes and put the old folks into the prisons
