Re: Spell checker
I think Roy said he had a lot of things he was going to get round to doing when he had time, like bringing back the petz and the money as well as adding a spell check. It's not so much spell checking as typing checking I need but it boils down to the same thing I suppose. I do try to read back over it before I hit the send button but sometimes I miss seeing something until it's too late.
The problem with a spell check is that it doesn't understand what you are trying to say and if you inadvertantly type an incorrect word but spell it right it will be accepted.
I remember one classic letter I wrote to a customer when I was working in a small branch of the bank. We had an automatic spell checker on our word processor and I hadn't looked back to see what it had done to correct my mistakes.
The letter I almost sent asked our customer to call in some time so that we could discuss the operation of her hovercraft! What I had meant to type was "overdraft" but I'd hit the "c" instead of the "d" and the word processor had kindly added an "h" for me.
