Sad news .... I remember them well .... ok, some of them I remember through an alcoholic haze. Here's a weird theory for you: Pubs as social networking.
Back in the day, when the world was young and fish and chips were 1/6d, friends used to meet at their designated local (for me it was the Junction, and later, the New Brewery) and shoot the sh ... oops, shoot the breeze.
But thank the lord, praise JESUS
