Of immeadiate concern is the fact that it is a 'spokeswoman', and not a spokesperson who has made the response - hypocracy in itself; but far more importantly is this reference to Stonewall. As far as I understand, this is an organisation for the botty-bashing brigade. Exactly what role they are playing in the management of this acute hospital I do not know, but it would appear to me that patient care should have priority over accommodating this mob.
I think that "spokeswoman" and "spokesman" are fine ... this way you know whether some stupid bitch is speaking, or some dumb asshole ... (I realize that "asshole" is somewhat gender neutral; but I couldn't use "dumb p....")
