The primary School near us is set to become one of these schools.(October)
The school will be able to manage its own finances, it will be able to set its own curriculum...decide on when school holidays should be....and even the starting and finishing time of the school day.
That is what the parents of children were told when it was proposed.
Many parents do not understand what the implications of Free schools are......we will have to wait and see how things go. From what I was told, the school in question went before it was pushed......next year it may have been forced to become a Free School.
