Which is why I said in an earlier post it is not fair to assume that all drivers above a certain age are incompetent purely on an age basis.
I have had my driving licence since 1980.........surely experience has to count for something.

My father learnt to drive in the Army, he was a very good drive, but as he got older, he did become dangerous Margaret, one of his main faults was creeping about in first gear, yes first gear, when he used to take me to hospital, he never got out of first gear until he reached New Lane, the engine was screaming, the problem was he was stone deaf and he couldn't hear it. But creeping about at 15 or 20 mile an hour isn't safe it just causes havoc for other road users
