Music made to last forever I suppose. "Dark Side of the Moon" is timeless and it's not that removed from reality - it deals with some pretty basic issues of life - greed, mental illness! Contrary to what was said around 1976 by certain people!
Some of their early LP tracks have a "punk" thrash about them! Oh yeeeeeeeh!
All bands have ego problems. I heard an interview with Depeche Mode when they got their first chart hit they used to argue about which one of them was the one who's looks/charisma/talent etc was responsible for the success! Hendrix bass guitar player Noel Redding left for same reasons. The pattern goes on in many bands/artists.
