I have a story about Accrington which I tried to research on the web with no luck so I decided to ask the experts!!!!

Here goes:
A member of the Peel family lived in a house at the bottom of the coppice and had avenue parade and peel street constructed as a route to St James church, also Annie, William and Robert street were named after his children.

Any of this sound true or was I definitely not listening in my history class!!
