no, you can choose to switch your rental to whoever you like. The actual wire to the house is provided by BT openreach which is a seperate company to the BT that sells you the phone service, Sky etc pay BT Openreach for the use of their equipment as do teh BT phone side.
IIRC Sky is actually cheaper for line rental than BT, it certainly was when I switched over
