Fletcher and Lindfield not even in the squad for yesterday - we had midfield options in reserve but not many attacking options. That is a lot of loanees, but who is there to fill the Mullin/Symes/Gornell role? James Spray looked as though he was that type of player in the (largely ineffective) 38 minutes that he played, but this is the area in which we need a loanee, not another attacking midfielder.
I'm convinced that if we had a striker who was effective with his back to goal (i.e. holding up the ball and linking up with the attacking midfielders), we would have a team capable of pushing for the playoffs again.
