In response to the groove. I've said before but basically mine goes back to when I started at barclays, the standard login id back then was the first 6 chars of your surname and your initial ( its no longer that simple or intuitive

). For me though there was also another ian entwistle online ( a maths/physics proff at manchester uni) who had grabbed all the ian.entwistle@ email addy s so I wanted to find something that was unique and this has worked everywhere. There its only one place I dont have it which is facebook due to a member on here (he knows who he is) decided to be spiteful and register it on the first day they came available. Its not transferable so I can never have it there now.
