I was short on time (haha) and weak in mind that eve, I wouldn't under normal circumstances consider fried chips. It would normally be sliced potatoes brushed with olive oil and a sprinkling of chillie powder or Weight Watchers low-fat chips, both done in the oven which takes much longer......
The ham (lean) was pre-cooked and ready to be eaten cold (with the chips )
