I was asked by a email friend who emigrated to Australia if I could go to Springhill and take some photos of all the changes,and as my uncle lived in Elizabeth St and I spent a lot of time there, learning to ride a bike around the roundabout opposite Springhill club,fished in the mill lodge and then served an apprenticeship as a turner, at Lang Bridge so I had a lot of intrest in doing this.What a disapointment how the area is run down, all the once fine terraced houses looked after with very proud owners windows boarded up streets dirty.I took the pictures and will send them off.
The new apartments look good but I expect the rents will be high
