Methodist Chapel

The Stanhill Residents Association received a proposal from a local resident to establish the village Chapel as a combined Methodist/James Hargreaves heritage centre. This was late 2010. This had the support of the national Methodist Heritage. Clearly the linkages between the industrial and Methodist heritage in the village are strong.

Lancashire Museum Service were contacted. The head of this said they would be pleased to advise the project. They also suggested a source within the North West museum network where the group could access equipment and resources.

Again, this was 2010. Sounds promising, so am trying to find out more as to how they went about it all.
