I doubt very much if they'll wait that long - by then it will be to late. My guess is they'll be launching air strikes some time in the early part of next year, shortly after the Yanks finally pull out from an operational capacity in Iraq. That's due to happen December 31st so at that point the Israelis will not need permission from them to overfly Iraq air space. The king Abdullahs in Jordan and Saudi Arabia will turn a blind eye to any intrusion on their space.
The real fun will then begin, because Iran have a substancial medium range missile capability and no doubt they'll strike back with whatever they've got left. Who knows who will get dragged in then.
By the way, the Iranians refer to us as the 'Old Fox', not the 'owd Lion.
