There's a strong tradition of carol singing in the village pubs around Sheffield, from Armistice Day to Boxing Day. Many are local carols, not known elsewhere. Here are a couple of clips from a pub we have been to, as it says on YouTube: No video could do justice to the tremendous atmosphere in the Royal at Dungworth on Sunday lunchtimes before Christmas with all the voices joining together in one wonderful celebration of goodwill, welcome and harmony. But at least you'll see something of what it looks like and hear all the voices raised in song.
