Bergerac was great - am a fan of John Nettles and have seen all The Midsomer Murders, not really for the storylines but for the fab settings etc. -when I need comfort TV it's great - rests the brain
The Onedin Line was another one we used to watch, and I used to love The Duchess of Duke Street -remember that one?

I'd forgotten I, Claudius - I've got that too. Don't watch Midsomer, prefer period settings, didn't watch much Bergerac which is why I bought the box set.
Onedin and Duke Street passed me by.
Talking of liking period settings, this week I was looking forward to Great Expectations on BBC1 but the filming was so dark I gave up after episode 1. This seems to be a growing trend and really puts me off. Also didn't like Gillian Anderson as Miss Havisham, she's such a one-dimensional actress, was just as bad in the last Dickens thing, can't remember what that was but she spoilt it...
