We hadn't lived there for many years, neither had he but he recognised an accent I hadn't even noticed!
We made great friends with him and his wife- saw them many times after that.

I worked down Rossendale for a few years Gordon, they certainly have a different twang to us and its thicker the further up the vale you get, its dense by the time ya get to Bacup, a bit like the inhabitants really
Joan comes from Leigh/Tyldesley area and she does have a different twag, but nowhere near as toned down as Mancs
