My eldest granddaughter is into buying designer gear. Her suitcase was the one that got lifted from the hotel lounge on her departure day.
She got a bag for christmas a few years back and was drooling over it.
It wasn't even leather - just some patterned fabric - looked cheapo to me.
Designer gear suckers are being taken for a ride. It's all snob stupidity.

I completely agree Margaret, if you buy designer gear you are paying for the name and I wouldn't be happy with my designer luggage (if I possessed it) going round an airport carousel for anyone to take. Designer stuff is often shoddily made in developing countries apparently.
However, I do possess two pairs of Dior sunglasses, one of which I have had for seven years and still as good as new despite me having worn them a lot in both winter and summer (I have a dodgy eye which doesn't tolerate light well). In fact I can look like a real poser sometimes! I don't think I'd get the equivalent use or protection from cheaper ones although that's not the reason I got them - it was for the name!
