Am I the only person who never fails to be puzzled at the logic behind the choices that game show contestants make?

On Deal or No deal, they say "Well number 17 is a lucky number for me, so I'll get rid of it early on."

On Pointless, having already got through to the next round, and therefore able to give a risky answer and boost the jackpot, they say "I'll play safe on this one...."

On Eggheads, confronted with three possible answers to an obscure question about football, they think it is relevant to mention that they once went to a match........

....and did I hear right tonight when one of the contestants on Million Pound Drop, when given a choice of categories between Babies and Tennis, said "Well my friend had a baby......"
