I only ask, as the last time we ventured so far north, we were stopped at the border and asked if we were stopping for quick pint in't rovers on way home.

Weather wise, we're not expecting the kind of weather we get on the south coast, warm sun, etc, but expect it to be extremely cold. Will it though be snowing, as per our last visit in August?

Please can we request, if it is not too much trouble that you stock food at the ground we're used to. Unlike last time, where all that was on offer was black pudding, tripe and mushy peas. Oh and Betty's hot pot and chip butties, were also on the menu.

We look forward to meeting you northern folk on tuesday, but please, don't talk too fast, as we simply don't understand your "different" accents.
Ta-ta for now......
Dear Sir, (and other Dons wi' Goatees)
Flat cap not required, you may wear your normal Peruvian hat with ear flaps tassels & bobble to protect your delicate little lugs against our biting northern gales.

Whippets, while marvellous animals don't get in without a season ticket. You could probably smuggle in your handbag hound (Chihuahua I believe they are) with the pink bows, tucked away in one of the side pockets of your Oxford bags, although that particular style was abandoned here in the North quite some years ago.

The weather we've already mentioned, but as to your dietary requirements, if you require something suitable for your Southern palates I suggest you bring your own "Sandwiches" (the ones which your Mum cuts the crusts off ) a flask of beverage of your choice, various lumps of marine snot in vinegar, jellied eels etc. Oh & your own warm weak Shandy, as the proper Ale "Up 'ere in't North !" would no doubt have you on your backs after 1 Pint & a whiff o' the Barmaids apron.

As to the language barrier you'll find us very tolerant & we do make allowances for the hard of thinking, we'll do our best to understand your Southern blather & should we need it, an interpreter will be at the ground to smooth any problems over & explain the big words to you.

Wishing you well on your travels & we'll see you all tomorrow when you venture out into the real world.

Game on.
