It seems strange only because this is happenining in the United Kingdom (albeit Yorkshire
). If this happened in the good ol' U. S. of A, it would raise few eyebrows. In fact, millions would probably vote for him in a Presidential election. I remember, years ago, Oral Roberts claiming that a 900 foot tall Jesus had ordered him to build a church, or something or other, and folks donated millions of dollars.
