OK I have an open mind on Aliens - it's possible!
Now the fact is if an Alien came down landed their craft on someones lawn and said "I want to talk to the person in this house!" Within minutes the house would be surrounded by Armed Police and cordoned off etc etc. You've seen the film "E.T." and what happens in this film - that is what would happen in reality also - that the government would isolate the Alien!
From the stand point it's clear why any Aliens there may be, would not openly visit any individual on this planet! What would happen has been documented in various Sc-fi films as stated; ET, Starman and The Man who fell to Earth! etc
