Is there intelligent life out there, well I would have thought so, but can they cross the interstellar distances, well maybe not.

Why would they visit, how could the even know we were here, assuming our radio signals (which travel at the speed of light) can be detected far into space, where they get weaker, we could have passed 4000 stars by now. Hardly a lot in terms of space.

When your concept of travel is limited by boundaries of time, distance and velocity you neccessarily conclude that. There may well be other ways not yet known to our primitive minds.

Recall the time of the invention of the steam passenger train, when it was commonly thought that it was impossible for the human body to withstand speeds above 60mph.
