Gyr Falcons are cool, very cool they live in cold areas like Greenland!
I think they used to kill all types of birds of prey at one time, Peregrines were not only killed on the coast but all over the place for killing grouse also poisons on the land effected them badly.

In the Picos de Europa of Northern Spain we saw large birds of prey feeding on deer carcases that had been left out for them - by whom, I don't know. Not easy to say if they were eagles or vultures, quite a long way off and not that knowledgeable but it was an amazing sight.
