I think you are right on this one ... foxes are not "evil" killers, they are, well, foxes. It's the nature of the beast. When my JRT chases a squirrel, and I put the brake on the leash, she gives me that questioning look, as if she is saying: "Hey, I'm a terrier; and this is what terriers do."
