Too many "maybes" ... I fully believe, however, that we are not alone in the Universe. But I agree with J. B. S. Haldane: "My own suspicion is that the Universe is not only queerer than we suppose, but queerer than we
can suppose." And I don't think that we are all that important anyway. Certainly not interesting enough to travel light years to observe. There are probably aliens out there who don't like to ask directions, and they end up here.
