Yes my Mum is the Power of Attorney for my Grandma, I dont know the in's and out's of how she went about it (I can ask if you like) but she has looked after all my Grandma's accounts now for 10 years with no probs.
My Grandma had a stroke and more recently had brain surgery so cannot handle money or bills or anything so it were a good thing my Mum sorted it sooner rather than later.

I have read about it, and Power of Attorney has to be set up while mum is of sound mind and can make a reasoned decision to agree to it. It just seems very expensive to set one up when it might never be needed!
