Took the following photo recently in Dacre village in the Lakes -it's a commemorative Coronation bench.
Just a thought, if she wasn't crowned officially until June 1953, is it really her Diamond jubilee this year or should it be held next year?

After a feat of copying and pasting all this just to say I had the same thought a while back -seems a bit muddled somehow - but the coronation bench is a lovely idea(and it has lasted!) -perhaps they could have a series of Diamond Jubilee ones made to put around Accrington -starting outside the Market Hall..

It's debatable, as to when her Diamond Jubilee is.
Febuary this year, when she ascended to the title of Queen, or June next year, when she was crowned Queen at her coronation.
Either way, historically, it's sod all to do with this weekend.
