Apparently the Co-op just lease the space, the new part will also be available to rent.

Shame really. When it first opened as Gateway, then Somerfield, it was a proper little supermarket, now it'll just be convienence store.

can remember it as somerfield, can't remember it as kwik save:confused: was in this aft though n was more in the post office queue than the supermarket.:rolleyes: aint suprised when yer paying £1-30 fer a loaf.:(

We are right, it was defo Somerfield's.

As a keen recycler I've still got the carrier bags to prove it.:D

I thought it was Somerfield too, Garinda.

Although I am surprised to hear that the co-op is being halved, it only confirms my suspicions that Oswaldtwistle could not have supported a Tesco had those plans gone ahead.

It's been both Gateway and Somerfield's before it was the Co-op, or Kwop, as it's known in Ossy.:D

I'll have you know that i shop locally more than anything else. It mustn't have been Somerfield for many years - I definitely remember Gateway and i retract the Kwik Save.

As for once in a week in a car, how do you know have you been watching? ;)
