Dog Walkers of Oswaldtwistle - Thwaites Road and The Vine

I am glad to see the members of our community are working so hard to improve the areas that we live by providing us with the great service of letting their dogs fould up our pavements. I love walking along Thwaites road on the way over to my friends house and playing the game "Land Mine Dodging" as I gingerly step of the mess left by inconsiderate dog owners. The children who attend the school on Thwaites Road must be so happy that people let their dogs defcate all over the pavement next to their school. I wonder if they play "Land Mine Dodging" and enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks you kind dog walks for leting your pooch pooh all over where many children play and lots of people walk up and down on their way to the Spar. You must feel so happy knowing that your lazyness is causing much anoyance to the people in your local area. I will keep an eye out for yourselves and you might start to find that the items you leave in our nice part of the world are returned direct to your door step for you to find in the morning when you are wearing your nice new shoes that you bought at the weekend!

Try reporting to the dog warden 01254 380644 or 01254 380645

I should imagine the problem would keep one dog warden employed 24/7.
And unless he caught someone letting the beloved pooch foul the pavement there is not alot he can do.

You wont know until you phone and report the problem. You could try your local councillor as well but I cant remember who yours is without looking.

How does the dog answer the phone?

Employing dogs, just because they're cheaper, takes jobs away from people, and should be banned.

I have just travelled the length of Thwaites Rd using google maps.
I can only see one red dog poo bin and it is on the side of the road less likely to be used by dog walkers.
Accrington BB5, United Kingdom - Google Maps

When I managed to get two dog bins installed near my home a few years ago, it took two years of pestering - local councillor, county councillor, dog warden and the environmental health office (start here).

If you don't manage to get more bins, the one you have could be better placed at little cost. The cost of having dog bins is mainly in the cost of emptying them weekly - (a man comes in a white van )

If it is really that big, it might well be 'community art';)

I don't want to upset you but are they both still there?

Yes (one is visible from my window - will look for the other tomorrow)- so you think that local government cuts will impact this service then?

Maybe it will, then again, if the depression/recession gets worse people may eat their dogs :D

I had heard about a bin being moved as it was underused and thought it was one near you. I could be wrong, the one in question was emptied using the grabs it had that little in it and the big bag in it was original still.
