For whom the bell tolls.

Growing up as a child in Ossy I remember the distictive chime of the clock at St Pauls school on Union Road, sadly that bell has been silent for a couple of years. I spoke to the headmistress about getting the clock fixed and she told me that the school couldn't afford to. This Oswaldtwistle land mark as been a service to the people and the visitors to Ossy for a very very long time, and its a shame that another thing in Ossy is either bust or neglected. I personally think the council should contribute towards the clocks repairs so that we can hear its chime once more. They could of used the money they wasted in making the war memorial look like a roller disco. Come on Mr Britcliffe I know you read these posts 'BRING BACK THE CHIMES'.

Re: For whom the bell tolls.

I would like the clock to show the correct time, but as for chimes - NO.
There is enough noise pollution as it is - have you folk forgotten the bliss of silence?

This old person has been there tonight as part of my birthday outing (after a meal at Francos).
I knew my geology grandson was managing a bar until he can find some dinosaurs locally, and it turns out it is this one.

Re: For whom the bell tolls.

Each county councillor has £1,250 to donate to local charity, voluntary and
community groups in the form of councillor grants each financial year. ...

Why not approach your local county councillor for a donation ....
