PS, WHAT IS A CHAV ?
To learn about chavs read this thread
http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/f...ean-41396.html

The coppice is still in Accy but we are integrated by the collective term 'Hyndburn'.
That is also a thorny issue - threads about that are too numerous to mention

His blog isn't readable because he wants it that way.
He is Garinda - one of the original members of this forum who amuses us with his excellent wit.
Sadly he is having health problems and doesn't post as often as he did

Accy Web was already up and running when I joined about four years ago.

When I first started going to the meets, some of the original members used to hark back to the good old days, when the site was apparently more fun.

When pushed, in answer to my question as to why it was more fun, the answer was you weren't here.

Stivies 8-a-loose potato pie can still taste it. The fish shop just further down, the cobblers (Pilkngtons) Down the bottom end Riley's herbalists, Nellie Barns Green Grocers, Makinsons Toffeee shop, Louy Parks Furniture Store, Lockwoods bakers, hows that for a start

Mary's sweet shop......on the corner of the block where Moorend chippy is.

It's a barber shop now.

The shop was always really dark. We used to pop in for 2oz of sweets after visiting the dentist on the next block.

This was when I was a child in the 1980s

Re: Has Anything Changed In Ossy ?

You can't buy petrol in Ossy anymore - the last petrol station opposite Ossy Mills closed a couple of years ago. That one used to be my granddads years ago, as did the one next to the Black Dog and the Red Cap garage.

I knew Jim very well, infact was in the next bed to Jim in hospital just before he died. Remember him, every friday night, going in the taproom at the Stop and Rest in Ossy (in the sixties) with his basket full of pies, used to sell um to the lads, dominos and cheese and onion pies, washed down with a pint of bitter went down well in those days
