Vicky Entwistle was a mate of my youngest daughter at school, they went to Rhyddings, think Vicky lived somewhere like Cardigan Avenue Ossy

Now Jay hardly a Christian attitude ! Take note of this sample From one Mr.T.Pratchett & his book "Pyramids". :)

At the other end of the dormitory Chidder was kneeling on Cheesewright's back and knocking his head repeatedly against the wall.

'Say it again,' he commanded. 'Come on - "There's nothing wrong-"'

'"There's nothing wrong with a chap being man enough-" curse you, Chidder, you beastly-'

'I can't hear you, Cheesewright,' said Chidder.

'"Man enough to say his prayers in front of other chaps", you rotter.'
'Right. And don't you forget it.'

A little more acceptance if you please !

How on earth could the Sunday school teacher, and the Sunday school teacher's assistant, plan what was to be taught otherwise?

Many a wise lesson was learned in those classes.

;)

Though saying that, I'm happy I was brought up in a family with a long association with Methodism in Ossy.

It shaped who I am, and what I think today, and that's partly due to knowing such a good woman as Vicky's mum, Maureen.

She did.

She was Mayoress of the town, when her mother was the Mayor.

She lives near Settle, in a farm house she originally bought with her old friend, and fellow Blackburnian Russell Harty.

I was at school with her daughter Charlotte, who presented the Saturday morning childrens programme Get Fresh, in the eighties.

It is easy to forget. Looking so youthful.

Still being asked if I want a half-fare on the bus, doesn't help.

Yes, a nightmare.

Even more so when Mum says 'Yes, he's a half', and makes me sit on her knee if the bus is busy.
