I think the hill is called Knowle Hill.

Could that chimney be bent with age? I know people call it the banana chimney.

That chimney is in a bad state, its only the bands holding it together, looks like the mortar has crumbled on one side, thereby causing it to lean. The cause is no more Lancashire boilers belching smoke up the up the chimney. The chemicals in the soot get rained on & turn to acid, which rots the mortar. Ever put bands on chimneys from a flying scaffold, believe me its hard work.

I recognise the hill but if it isn't called Knowle then I don't know what it is called. I recognise that puff of steam too because it's always puffing and always looks like a steam train.

Ooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh...close, but too close. The picture was taken looking north from the canal bank at Church; the hill in question can only be seen on a really crisp, clear day, as was friday morning. The chimney is that of the cement works, just outside Clitheroe.

As for the hill itself, here's a clue: it's 1 of 3.
