it wasn't a wild goose chase for me.....Ma needed shopping, and I nearly always have my little camera with me....especially recently, with the work that is being done.
I am hoping that I will be able to see what is going on on Wednesday.
I might just ask himself to leave me at Ma's for the afternoon.......I have never seen a chimney come down.......and to get a pic would be....perfick! :)

Wednesday is 'half day closing' so there will be less disruption to trading from road closures

Wouldn't make a difference round Woodnook Margaret, that road's busy every day...people use it more since the centre was pedestrianised, get loads of lorries down there too.

Don't be daft Margaret ... all industrial around there ... not many shops close for half day now. Still you do it on-line 24/7 :D:D

Probably don't want to pay the steeplejacks weekend rates.. :D

Ma tells me that the preparation work for the demolition of the chimney has begun.
I hope that when it falls it doesn't knock the pictures off her walls :D

Here are some of the pics I took last week.

Wow! The workmen have been really busy this weekend. Not much left now. They had intended taking down the scaffolding today, but its too windy. The wood is piled up near the chimney, ready for the demolition to begin. Few photos taken around 9.00am this morning.
