Where was this chimney ?

Does anybody know where the chimney was in this picture? The picture was taken at the bottom of Black Abbey Street and Grange Lane. The church spire is Oak Street Congregational Church, but where was the chimney. The only chimney I remember was at Park Mill but I don't remember it being that tall.

Maybe but it is hard to judge exactly where it is. I think the building on the right hand side just below the tree is New Jerusalem Church on Abbey Street.

Nay John con ti nod du better than thad.
To include Broad Oak the picture would have to be twice as wide and then Bank Terrace is in the way.

Look at the picture and the angles, the nearest mill that would appear in the background between the Oak St Congi's and the Swedenborgs in Abbey St, is the Old mill in Birtwistle St facing the end of Beech St, when I were a lad it were know as Co-op joiners.

As for Park Mill, that would have appeared to the left of the Oak St Congi's

When they knocked down the area bounded by Plantation St and Birtwistle St, from Abbey St to Cobham Rd, and built those lego boxes.

*Blows raspberry to Cashman* ..

Still don't think you are correct, think the 'photographer' may have been taking it from Grange Lane, yeh, yeh know that Jeff said that, but the title isn't quite correct then. Doesn't look like a photograph though .. just a sketch ?

There was a Grange Mill showing on maps ... what was that ?

Hoody Blell
Mosleys bakery was at the end of Jacob St, junction
with Grange Lane. The building is still there with scaffolding round it.
