I have a "dream"
Hi, pinching an idea here, but ...
Just back from working in Doncaster. On the bus station are two really really nice "murals". They look painted, but possibly could have been done on a computer. They are quite large, am guessing ....6ft x 4ft. One is of buildings in Donny and one is of famous people. The famous people one caught my eye and made me realise how good it would be if we could have something similar in Accrington. (Apparently Jeremy Clarkson came from the town of Doncaster, the toy Paddington Bear, was actually created by Jeremy Clarkson's Mum, Kevin Keegan. came from the town, So these are the type of pictures which can be seen on the Doncaster mural). We have suggested so many people on this site who have left their mark in this town. Wonder how we could get such a thing going here in Accrington. I suppose for starters we would have to approach the Council, suggest which folk could represent our town, provide photos or sketches, maybe contact the College and see could they get involved.
